Motherhood Pour le miens {For my family}
Pelicans, in heraldry, represent filial or a mothers love for her children. According to legend, Pelicans in times of great hunger would pierce their breast offering up their own blood as nourishment for their offspring. Their selfless sacrifice ensured the survival of their children. Handcrafted from a French wax seal dating to the 1830’s.

This is a really nice seal or charm. It's made very well and very finally detailed. I love pelicans. I used to fly in a helicopter when I was in the US Coast Guard an HH3F nicknamed "Pelican". So they mean something special to me and this was something I thought would be fun to seal letters with etc. Great work, absolutely love it.
