This Page has information on how to order your Fingerprint Jewelry and also how to take the perfect mold of a fingerprint.

Ordering:

Once you place your fingerprint order with Plum & Posey, we will send your impression kit within 48 hours of payment. ***Excluding weekends & public holidays

Your kit once received will include detailed instructions, a return envelope for sending your molds back  and enough silicone molding compound to make 2-3 fingerprint impressions. Please make 2 impressions one from each hand/foot. ~ your imprint kit can also be used to make 1 pet paw or nose impression

Making a fingerprint impression takes less than 5 min, and is super easy!!

Once your mold has been received in my studio it takes 2-3 weeks to handcraft your order especially for you. During busy times we retain the right to extend this up to 4 weeks. (Christmas, Valentines & Mother’s Day)

Instructions for taking imprints:

PLEASE READ FULLY FIRST

I.            Take each of the 2 containers/bags and remove half of putty, putting the remaining putty to the side for later use. Do not let the 2 colors of remainder silicone touch.  Partial curing will start immediately even when they have not been mixed, making it unusable.

II.            Mix first half of 2 putty colors together for approx 60 seconds until a uniform color has been achieved. Do not over mix as the curing process will begin, also do not leave too many streaks in it as it may not cure properly.

III.            In the palm of your hands roll the mixed putty into a ball and place on flat surface. Take the finger that you are taking a print of, place on top of ball and lightly  press into the silicone putty. The silicone putty is very soft so you will not require much pressure.  Do NOT press the fingertip in too far making the mold too thin underneath. Hold for 2 seconds and then lift straight up, not touching the mold again for 20 min until it has fully cured.

***If you need to retake the print, quickly re-roll the putty and press finger in again. You have about 90 seconds work time. Don’t worry if you mess it up. That is why I send enough putty for 2-3 prints!!***

IV.            For babies and small children it may be easier to make the impression of their fingerprint while they are sleeping. Use a playing card, plate or tile as your surface and bring the silicone putty to the digit to be impressed.

V.            A big toe will sometimes give a better detail than a finger for children under the age of 2. Be sure to check which you would prefer to take a print of before mixing your molding putty.

VI.            Fill out personalization labels and attach to provided zip lock bags. Once your mold has cured slip them into the bag(s) and post it back to Plum & Posey in the addressed envelope included in your kit!
